CHALLENGE


The STARTUP WORLD Award in the Automation category was open to startups (up to five years old) that are developing innovative automation products or have at least a working prototype ready in any relevant market segment (except for service robotics).

What topics does this category address?

Applications might include integrated assembly solutions, industrial robotics, machine vision, positioning systems, software, services, and technologies involving drive systems, sensors, control systems, safety, or supply logistics.

This award aims to help startups bring groundbreaking automation systems to market.

PRIZES


1st place:
  • EUR 5,000 cash grant
  • Exhibition booth at the STARTUP WORLD Market @ AUTOMATICA 2016
  • Speaker slot on the STARTUP WORLD Stage @ AUTOMATICA 2016
  • Comprehensive marketing package including excellent pre-trade fair promotion with your logo on the STARTUP WORLD website and other marketing materials, on-site promotion at AUTOMATICA, a winner's badge on the website, a rollup banner for your own use, and a paragraph on the winning product in a dedicated press release

EVALUATION CRITERIA


In the Automation category, the STARTUP WORLD Award will reward complete products and prototypes as well as devices, sensors, components, or software that advance the state of the art in automation pplications in different market segments (except for service robotics).

In this category, one winner and two runners-up will be selected by a panel of industry and research experts. All complete entries will be evaluated based primarily on the following criteria:
  • Innovation level
  • Business potential
  • Usability
  • Product maturity or availability of a prototype
